About Us.

AP Consulting Engineers exists to provide as much assistance as we possibly can to people with a need for civil engineering. The company was founded in 2010 out of necessity, but with a strong desire to focus on spanning the gap between property owners’ and developers’ visions of what could be and should be, through all of the technical requirements, permitting demands, and construction questions, to see new homes, facility expansions, residential subdivisions, and new buildings become reality.

2010

 

The Founding

Two months after leaving the one company I had been employed with as a result of the recession and with a project being offered by a local architect to pull me through the rough spot, a business license was secured and a company was formed. In truth, the option of operating an engineering firm was never a strong desire, full of potential difficulty and risk, but necessity proved to be the mother of invention.

2013

 

Full-time

After temporary research at four successive engineering firms over the course of 2.5 years (otherwise known as a hunt for full-time employment), while each firm was navigating the shallows of post-recession engineering in Washington, a local geotechnical engineer recommended us to a couple of his clients with projects of a sufficient size to allow a full-time focus on the company’s projects.

2015

 

Employment

With a growing group of clients and projects to help them with and an improving economy and after testing the waters by employing a great intern throughout the summer, the company was ready and able to offer full-time employment to a strong, recently-graduated engineer who continues to apply all of his strong skills and experience to designing our clients’ projects.

2016

 

Office Space

Roughly a year after securing the company’s first and, not too long after, second full-time employees, the hunt for office space yielded an office on Harvey Road in Auburn that would accommodate growth in the company’s number of employees and, finally, offer a space in which to welcome and consult with clients on their projects.
